Mothers Support Group - it's all in the name!
Ambreen is one of our Riverstone Mums and Bubs Group members who has succeeded with her enthusiasm and dedication for the things she knows.
Ambreen is highly educated and a specialist in education curriculum. She arrived in Australia in 2011 from Pakistan and continued to build on her educational skills, studying and became an accredited teacher here.
In 2016, Ambreen had her first child, who was three months premature. Due to maternity and job uncertainty she started to look for new work opportunities where she could use her skills and have time for her child. She started her own business!
Using her knowledge and skills, she established an online educational and creative writing tutoring business - https://www.funfoxprogram.com.au/home
She describes this business as: Educational programs that spark a lifelong love of learning.
Ambreen was introduced to the SydWest Riverstone Mothers and Bubs Group by one of the mothers, whom she knew personally (an example of our word of mouth referrals). This came at a time when Ambreen was feeling very overwhelmed and alone. For Ambreen, the mothers' group meant she could access important parenting information and resources each week, to support her premature baby. She also valued the meeting up with other mothers, sharing stories and no longer feeling isolated or alone. The weekly group sessions became important to Ambreen's sense of wellbeing and also fired our confidence to progress her entrepreneurial vision.
Ambreen was inspired by the SydWest International Women's Day event in 2021 to share her story, because lots of women have skills but think it's not enough to build their own business.
I want to share my story because I want other women – mothers, to be inspired by my story. I came here as an immigrant and managed to set up my own businesses and if I can do it, so many more can do it too!
